ELA REITINGER
Ela Reitinger has been working as a freelance artist in Austria and Italy for more than 25 years. She received her basic artistic training at the University of Art and Design Linz under Dietmar Brehm, at that time still with life drawing. However, she soon turned to acrylic painting and eventually to loose paintings.
The three-year master school under Hermann Nitsch became a key experience and strengthened it in its actionist expression. Since then, Ela Reitinger has been intensively involved with performance art. Just as important to her as the result is the process of creation: "There's something incredibly liberating about painting." National and international exhibitions followed from Italy to the USA, Dubai and India.
**Ela Reitinger: An artist in search of freedom in expression**
For more than 25 years, Ela Reitinger has shaped the art scene in Austria and Italy as a freelance artist. Her artistic journey began at the University of Art and Design Linz, where she learned life drawing under the guidance of Dietmar Brehm. But she quickly discovered the fascinating world of acrylic painting and unfolds her creativity in the form of impressive loose-leaf paintings.
A turning point in her artistic career was the three-year master school under Hermann Nitsch, which not only influenced Ela in her style but also strengthened her actionist expression. This phase laid the foundation for her deep engagement with performance art. For Ela Reitinger, the creative process is just as important as the final result. "There is something incredibly liberating about painting," she explains, inviting viewers to explore the emotional impulse behind each work.
Ela Reitinger's works can be admired both nationally and internationally in exhibitions from Italy to the USA, Dubai and India. Her paintings are extraordinary, powerful color compositions that reflect her distinctive style.
The artist works intuitively, generously and always in motion, which gives her images an apparent randomness. But behind this random appearance are careful considerations and profound emotions. Ela is convinced that a prolonged observation of a picture leads to a transformation: "This transformation may vary completely from person to person," says the artist, "but it connects us through an impression of energy, dynamism, and attraction."
Ela Reitinger remains a significant voice in contemporary art, whose works not only fill the canvas but also create a deeper connection between artist and viewer.
