ELA REITINGER

Ela Reitinger has been working as a freelance artist in Austria and Italy for more than 25 years. She received her basic artistic training at the University of Art and Design Linz under Dietmar Brehm, at that time still with life drawing. However, she soon turned to acrylic painting and eventually to loose paintings. 

The three-year master school under Hermann Nitsch became a key experience and strengthened it in its actionist expression. Since then, Ela Reitinger has been intensively involved with performance art. Just as important to her as the result is the process of creation: "There's something incredibly liberating about painting." National and international exhibitions followed from Italy to the USA, Dubai and India.

Ela is convinced that a prolonged observation of a picture leads to a transformation: "This transformation may vary completely from person to person," says the artist, "but it connects us through an impression of energy, dynamism, and attraction."
